Sake Honjozo Tokubetsu 15%vol Japanese Sake- Milling rate 60%

The Tokubetsu Honjozo is a sake for everyday dining: 15% ABV, rice polishing to 60%, and a straightforward, clean style. With Honjozo, a small amount of distilled alcohol is added before pressing, which makes the sake lean and dry. Tokubetsu ("special") points to a highlighted quality within this category.

It is produced by the Akashi Sake Brewery in Japan. The rice is polished down to 60% of its original size, which keeps the profile clear and free of heavy notes. On the nose and palate, subtle fruit notes and a light grain tone appear, accompanied by a dry, structured nature that does not overpower food.

Recommendation: Drink it well chilled, then it feels fresh and precise, or slightly tempered, then it gains in roundness. It pairs well with yakitori, grilled fish, tempura, or sushi and is an uncomplicated entry into the world of sake.
