RUM1823 - Single Cask No 135 50.8% vol Swiss Rum Etter 0.7L

The RUM1823 Single Cask No. 135 is a Swiss rum at cask strength: a single cask bottling at 50.8% ABV, distilled in Zug and bottled from just one single cask.

The Etter Söhne AG Distillerie Zug processes golden-brown sugar cane molasses from a small producer in Jamaica here. After fermentation and distillation in Zug, the rum matured for nine years in the company's own cellar in Bourbon cask No. 135. Pure spring water from the Höllgrotten in Baar was used for bottling.

In the glass, it shows an intense amber color. On the nose, dried fruits and orange meet spices and fine smoky nuances. Powerful and complex on the palate: caramel, licorice, oak wood, and spicy fruit, plus a long, warm finish.

Recommendation: neat at room temperature in a tulip glass. A few drops of water open up the fruit aromas. A rum for quiet evenings, best enjoyed with dark chocolate.
