Ruffino »Tenuta Greppone Mazzi« Brunello di Montalcino 0.75L

The Brunello di Montalcino from Tenuta Greppone Mazzi is one of the structured, profound representatives of this Tuscan royal discipline — a Sangiovese that makes the power of the hills south of Montalcino immediately palpable.

Tenuta Greppone Mazzi is the heart of Ruffino's commitment in Tuscany. The estate is located in the southern part of the Denominazione, where the warmer soils give the Sangiovese Grosso — called Brunello here — special ripeness and depth. Ruffino, one of the most well-known wine houses in Tuscany since 1877, manages the Tenuta as an independent unit with a clear focus on the typical stylistics of the appellation area.

In the glass, deep ruby red appears. The nose opens with black cherry, cassis, and ripe plum, underscored by violets, tobacco, and a hint of black pepper. Chocolatey depth rounds off the aroma profile. On the palate, the wine appears powerful and dense without losing its freshness — the tannins are present but integrated, the finish long and persistent.

Best served at 17–18 °C with braised wild boar, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, or aged Pecorino di Pienza. It also makes a good impression with wild mushroom risotto or leg of lamb with rosemary.
