Rouge Osé Vin de France

Rouge Osé is a red wine that drinks like a rosé: clear ruby red, lots of fruit, hardly any tannin. Les Jamelles, the label from Badet Clément, bottles it as a Vin de France. It belongs to the wines that play with conventions, and that is exactly what makes it so uncomplicated.

The grape variety is Caladoc, a cross between Grenache and Malbec, which is at home in the south of France. In the nose, the 2023 vintage opens with fresh red fruits and grenadine, accompanied by white peach, nectarine, and a hint of mint. On the palate, it starts juicy and dry, carried by a fine minerality. Then follow raspberry and redcurrant. The finish remains fresh and without noticeable tannin.

Serve it slightly chilled, at room temperature, or on ice. It works as an aperitif, solo, or as a base for a cocktail. At the table, it accompanies light dishes, spicy tartare, and pizza.
