Riesling Dorsheimer Burgberg GG

The Dorsheimer Burgberg vineyard is one of the best Riesling sites in the Nahe region – and this Grand Cru shows why. Firm, mineral, with a depth that surprises on the first sip.

Dorsheim lies in the northern Nahe Valley, where porphyry and red sandstone give the Riesling its characteristic crispness. The Burgberg vineyard is a steep slope with an ideal southern exposure – the basis for wines with structure and long aging potential.

In the glass, a clear citrus profile emerges: lemon zest, white peach, and apricot. With a little aeration, mirabelle plum and dried herbs join the mix. On the palate, the wine is both taut and delicately juicy – a lively acidity carries the herbaceous aromas without being harsh. The minerality is present and almost warm and spicy, not the typical cool slate character, but something more earthy and serious. The finish is long, subtly aromatic, and intensely mineral.
