Puligny Montrachet Les Levrons

Les Levrons is located in the municipality of Puligny-Montrachet, below the great Premier Cru vineyards — a Chardonnay that shows the classic Côte de Beaune minerality without the heaviness of some oak-influenced Burgundian wines.

Domaine Caire-Deveze cultivates its plots in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, where the limestone soil gives the Chardonnay its characteristic tension. Les Levrons is one of the lieux-dits that express the character of the village most directly: not a Premier Cru, but with the precision that distinguishes Puligny-Montrachet from other white wine appellations in Burgundy.

In the glass, the 2023 shows citrus peel, white peach, and a hint of smoke. The acid structure is taut without sharpness, the finish mineral-salty with a light chalky note — typical for the appellation's limestone subsoil.

Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with scallops with butter, zander on fennel, or a mature Comté.
