Pouilly-Fumé AC Pouilly-Fumé

A dry Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire that puts freshness and minerality in the foreground: Pouilly-Fumé from De Ladoucette, one of the most famous names of the appellation.

The vines grow on limestone and flint soils around Pouilly-sur-Loire. This very subsoil shapes the style of the wine and gave the appellation its name: the “fumé” tone, the smoky-stony note, is considered the trademark of the region. De Ladoucette has long been one of the reference addresses here.

In the glass, the wine is clear and brilliant. On the nose, fresh herbs and gooseberry meet a hint of flint. On the palate, it is dry, lively, and precise; the acidity provides drive, and the mineral character provides depth. The finish remains long and clear.

Serve it at 8–10 °C as an aperitif or with steamed fish, seafood, and poultry. Fresh goat cheese, such as a young Crottin de Chavignol, pairs particularly well.
