Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru Clos des Prouges, Ferret

A Pouilly-Fuissé that shows why the appellation has been one of the best addresses for white Burgundy for decades: substantial, profound, with real aging potential.

Domaine Ferret in Fuissé is one of the historic benchmarks of the Mâconnais region. Clos des Prouges is one of the estate's Tête de Cru single vineyards—an unofficial but firmly established local classification for the best parcels. The vines grow on calcareous marl soils and are up to 60 years old. This combination of deep root systems and poor subsoil produces concentrated, characterful grapes.

In the glass, the Chardonnay displays ripe yellow pear, white peach, and a distinct hint of roasted hazelnut. It boasts a creamy texture, supported by fresh, well-integrated acidity. The finish is long, mineral, and slightly saline—typical of the limestone soils of the Mâconnais. This is not a heavy, oaky wine, but a classically crafted Burgundy with substance.

Serving suggestion: Now until 2032. Serve at 12–13 °C. Pairs well with pike-perch with beurre blanc, lobster, scallops or a mature Comté cheese.
