Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Brunello di Montalcino from the Pian delle Vigne estate — this is Sangiovese Grosso in one of its most powerful expressions, grown on the gentle hills southwest of Montalcino at an altitude of around 300 meters.
Tenuta Pian delle Vigne has been part of the Antinori Group since 1995 and cultivates approximately 65 hectares in the Montalcino area. The vineyards benefit from the elevated location, cool nights, and clay-rich Galestro soil—ideal conditions for Brunello with structure and aging potential. Vinification and aging follow the strict DOCG regulations: a minimum of five years of maturation, including two years in large oak barrels.
In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red with violet highlights. The nose offers ripe cherry, blackberry, and a distinct hint of leather and dried herbs. On the palate, it presents firmly structured, ripe tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish with notes of tobacco and cedar—typical of a Brunello with good aging potential.
Serving suggestion: Decant now (at least 60 minutes) or store until 2032+. Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised wild boar, mature Pecorino di Pienza, or dark chocolate.
