Mesta Verdejo Ucles

A fresh white wine from the Spanish DO Uclés – with the typical Verdejo profile, but without the heaviness of some Rioja alternatives: light-footed, aromatic, suitable for everyday use.

Bodegas Fontana is located in Castilla-La Mancha and cultivates its vineyards organically (certification ES-ECO-002-CM). The Uclés soils, with their limestone subsoil, give Verdejo wines a distinctive mineral character that sets them apart from classic Rueda wines.

In the glass, the Mesta displays ripe pineapple and banana, underpinned by citrus zest – more tropical than crisp. On the palate, it remains light and lively, the acidity is present but softly integrated. The finish is short to medium-long, slightly bitter, and pleasantly dry.

Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with Gambas al ajillo, light pasta dishes with lemon sauce, or a summery goat cheese salad. Not a wine for aging – best enjoyed young, within the next one to two years.

Bodegas Fontana

Bodegas Fontana lies in the heart of Spain's Castilla-La Mancha region – a land of wide plains, intense sunshine, and soils that inspire exceptional vines. What is produced here is not a wine for quiet contemplation: powerful, full of character, and with a warmth you can almost feel.

The winery focuses on indigenous varieties such as Bobal and Tempranillo – grapes that embody the essence of this landscape. The result is wines with genuine expression: fruity, spicy, with depth without heaviness.
