Marsala Classic Vergine Riserva

A dry Marsala with character: The Classic Vergine Riserva from Cantine Florio shows how much tension can be in a wine from western Sicily.

It has been aging since 2010 in a single barrel in the historic Garibaldi winery, only 137 meters from the sea near Marsala. Florio is one of the most famous names in the Marsala tradition. The proximity to the coast noticeably shapes the wine.

In the glass, agromarine scents meet delicate notes of broom and yellow flowers. On the palate, it appears lively, dry, and hearty, carried by vertical tannins that give it structure and drive.

Recommendation: Serve it at about 12 to 14 °C, for example with aged Pecorino, fried fish with capers and olives, or almond pastries. It is also well-suited as a companion for a quiet evening after a meal.
