M. Chapoutier »Chante-Alouette« Blanc - from 6 bottles in a wooden crate - Demeter 0.75L

The Chante-Alouette from M. Chapoutier is one of the most famous white Hermitages — a Marsanne from the northern Rhône, which is grown almost exclusively in this appellation and produces wines of remarkable density and longevity.

Chapoutier cultivates its Hermitage vineyards biodynamically according to Demeter guidelines and is considered one of the pioneers of this cultivation philosophy in the Rhône Valley. The name “Chante-Alouette” — lark song — refers to one of the best white wine sites on the hill. The Marsanne grape produces gold-green shimmering wines with great aromatic complexity here.

The nose reveals quince and acacia blossom, plus honey, a hint of ginger, and a fine linden note. In the mouth, the wine appears expressive without heaviness — the texture is dense, the finish long and elegant. Typical for ripe Marsanne: a creamy richness that never becomes cloying.

Served at 12–14 °C, it pairs well with lobster with saffron sauce, sweetbreads, creamy risottos with porcini mushrooms, or strong poultry from the oven. Those who drink it pure should give it some time in the glass — the aromas unfold significantly with air.
