Leitz Rosengarten Rüdesheimer Riesling GG 0.75L

The Rüdesheimer Rosengarten is one of the most famous sites in the Rheingau — located on quartzite and slate, with a southern exposure that ensures fully ripe grapes. Weingut Leitz from Rüdesheim is one of the defining names of the region: Johannes Leitz has consistently led the winery to the top since the 1980s and stands for dry Rieslings with clear site typicity. The GG — Großes Gewächs — is the highest quality level of the VDP and stands for hand-picked grapes from the single vineyard.

In the glass, the wine shows spicy notes, quince, and exotic fruit, underscored by a fine minerality that reflects the slate and quartzite soil of the site. On the palate, dry and dense, with lively acidity and a long, salty-mineral finish that is typical for Rheingau Riesling from this site.

Good with grilled sea bass, zander in foam sauce, or Asian-spiced tuna. It also makes a good impression with aged Comté or a strong goat cheese. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C.
