A cherry brandy that shows what Austrian fruit distilling at the highest level means: clear fruit, no compromises, artisanal precision.

Alois Gölles has been distilling fruit brandies in Southern Styria for decades that are considered an international benchmark. The Herzkirsche (heart cherry) is one of his classics — named after the grape variety, which is considered particularly aromatic and fleshy. After distillation, the brandy matures for two years in glass carboys, which protects the fruit aromas while allowing a fine roundness to develop without overpowering wood notes.

In the glass, ripe, dark cherry dominates — juicy, with a slight marzipan note in the background. The texture is soft, the finish long and fruity, without becoming sweet. Not an artificial product, but distilled fruit in its most concentrated form.

Best enjoyed neat, at 16–18 °C, after a meal — as the conclusion of a menu with game dishes or dark chocolate. Those who prefer it cooler can put it in the fridge for a short time, but ice would flatten the fine aromas.
