Gusbourne Pinot Noir Gusbourne Estate 0.75L

An English Pinot Noir that shows what southern England is now capable of: concentrated but finely drawn red fruit from a single vineyard of the Gusbourne Estate in Kent.

Gusbourne is situated on limestone soils near Appledore in the county of Kent – ​​one of the warmest and driest parts of England. Since its founding in 2004, the winery has specialized in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier and is now considered one of the most reliable producers of English still wine. The Pinot Noir from the single vineyard of the Gusbourne Estate is the centerpiece of their range.

On the nose, the wine opens with soft red cherries and cranberries, underpinned by dried herbs and an earthy undertone. On the palate, it is concentrated yet surprisingly refined: bright, clear fruit, good structure, a long finish with restrained spice. The tannins are silky, the acidity invigorating without being sharp.

Best served at 16–17 °C . Pairs well with duck breast with cherry sauce, roast lamb, or a mature goat cheese. Also a good accompaniment on its own for a quiet evening.
