Gavi di Gavi DOP

The Gavi di Gavi from Pico Maccario is a dry white wine from the southern Piedmont that hits the spot with clear acidity and fine salinity. It stands for the Cortese grape in its most precise form.

Gavi di Gavi denotes wines from the municipal area of Gavi itself, the core of the appellation in the southeast of Piedmont. There, the Cortese expresses its taut, mineral-influenced nature particularly clearly. Pico Maccario focuses on this origin and extracts a lean, clear white wine from the grape variety.

In the glass, light straw yellow. On the nose, apple, pear, and yellow stone fruit, plus white blossoms and a delicate citrus accent. On the palate, dry, with a taut acidity structure and a fine salinity that remains in the aftertaste.

Recommendation: serve it at 8 to 10 °C as an aperitif or with vitello tonnato, seafood, grilled fish, or a risotto with lemon zest.
