A ten-year-old whisky from two casks: For the PrivateEdition Two Casks, the finch whisky distillery has combined a single malt from a red wine cask with a grain whisky from an ex-bourbon cask. It is bottled at 53% vol.

finch distills on the Swabian Alb and stands for highland whisky from Baden-Württemberg. The Two Casks is a limited bottling that deliberately contrasts two cask types: the red wine cask with its fruit, the bourbon cask with its sweetness.

In the glass, caramel, coconut, and dark chocolate appear, along with a honey-like sweetness. The style is rich but clearly defined; the cask notes remain easy to grasp.

Best enjoyed neat in a nosing glass. Give the whisky a few minutes, then the cask and sweetness notes will become rounder. A few drops of water open it up further. A good choice for tastings and for all those who like to collect special editions.
