A ten-year-old single malt with a distinct smoke signature from the Swabian Highlands: The finch DistillersChoice Smoky focuses on roasted aromas and smoke without appearing coarse. It is aimed at everyone who appreciates smoky whisky and wants a single malt from Germany in their glass.

The barley comes from the finch whisky distillery's own cultivation at an altitude of over 700 metres. In addition to barley malt, oak smoke malt is used, so the smoke is created in the malt itself. The whisky matures for ten years, first in selected wine casks, then in Islay casks. It is bottled at 46% vol.

In the glass, it is reminiscent of toasted marshmallows, accompanied by sweet-seeming hints and pepper spice. The smoke line is distinct but finely guided, the body structured and present, the finish remains roasted and smoky.

Recommendation: neat in a nosing glass at room temperature. A few drops of water fan out the smoke and roasted aromas further. Pairs with a quiet evening, after a hearty meal or with dark chocolate.
