The Vieille Quitte from Etter is an aged quince brandy from Central Switzerland: clear in fruit, soft in texture, and pleasantly accessible at 40% ABV.

Etter Söhne AG operates its distillery in Zug and is considered one of the most well-known addresses for Swiss fruit brandies. For this brandy, the quinces come from Swiss home gardens, where the fruits often ripen on old, free-standing trees. The aging period gives the distillate a round texture and warm depth without masking the fruit.

In the glass, fresh quince, floral notes, and a delicate spice appear. On the palate, the brandy remains clear yet soft, and the finish is long and finely spicy.

We recommend it neat at room temperature in a tulip glass, classically as a digestif after a meal. It also pairs well with aged cheese such as Gruyère or Appenzeller and with vanilla desserts, such as panna cotta or vanilla ice cream.
