Etter Vieille Orange 40% vol Old Orange Barrique 0.1L

The Vieille Orange from Etter is an orange brandy with 40% vol. from Switzerland, matured in barriques. Citrus meets barrel aging here: the fruit is at the center, the wood rounds off the edges. The 0.1-liter bottle is well-suited for getting to know this specialty in peace.

Behind it is Etter Söhne AG, a distillery in Zug that is known for its fruit brandies. With the Alte Orange, it shows how exciting citrus can be in a distillate when maturity is added.

In the glass, orange peel and candied notes dominate, plus a fine bitter trace. The barrel complements vanilla and wood spice without covering the orange. On the palate, the brandy appears round and clear; the aftertaste is long and fragrant.

Serve it as a digestif after a meal, at room temperature in a tulip-shaped glass so that the aroma collects. It pairs with dark chocolate, espresso, or nut pastries.
