Etter Vintage Cherry 42% vol. Single-varietal mountain cherries 0.7L

The Etter Jahrgangskirsch is a single-varietal cherry brandy from Central Switzerland with 42% ABV. It relies on clear fruit and a precise line rather than opulence.

Etter Söhne AG operates its distillery in Zug and has long been considered one of the defining addresses for Swiss fruit brandies. For this vintage, only mountain cherries of the Lauerzer variety are used. The 2008 vintage matured for around eight years in 50-liter demijohns in the attics of old barns. The temperature changes there smooth the edges of the distillate and shape its profile.

In the glass, it shows ripe cherry fruit with the typical, clear kernel note that is reminiscent of cherry pit and marzipan. On the palate, it appears crystalline and clean; in the finish, it remains long and harmonious. Serve it neat at room temperature in a small tulip glass, as a digestif after a meal, or with dark chocolate.
