Drostdy-Hof Cabernet Sauvignon WO Western Cape

A Cabernet Sauvignon from the Western Cape that puts the fruit in the foreground and is easy to drink. Vinified dry, with clear berry aromatics and a structure that does not overwhelm you with the first glass, but invites you to have a second.

Drostdy-Hof is a well-known name in South African viticulture. The grapes come from the Western Cape (WO) origin area, a region where Cabernet Sauvignon has been one of the defining red varieties for decades. The climate with warm days and cooling sea breezes ensures ripe fruit while maintaining fresh acidity.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red. On the nose, black currant and dark berry fruits dominate. On the palate, it is juicy; the tannins are subtle and well-integrated, the structure remains lean rather than massive. The finish is balanced and of medium length, without harsh edges.

Serve it at 16 to 18 °C. It pairs well with burgers, grilled meat, pasta with meat sauce, or strong hard cheese. It also cuts a fine figure without food, for a convivial evening with friends.
