The »Z« from De Toren is a South African red wine that perfectly captures Stellenbosch's strength as a red wine region: structured yet accessible, with a depth of fruit that does not rely on heaviness.

De Toren Private Cellar is located in the heart of Stellenbosch and specializes in Bordeaux-inspired cuvées. The »Z« is the more accessible counterpart to the winery's flagship line — intended for everyday enjoyment without sacrificing character. The cuvée combines several classic red grape varieties from the Stellenbosch terroir, which is known for its deep, well-drained soils and Mediterranean climate.

In the glass, the »Z« displays aromas of plum and blueberry, carried by a fresh, well-integrated acidity. The tannins are soft and round — not a wine that demands patience, but one that provides immediate pleasure. The finish is clean and pleasantly long.

Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb chops, beef burgers with strong cheese, or a spicy tomato ragù. Also a great choice as an uncomplicated companion for a barbecue evening.
