Colle Mezzano

Cabernet Franc from Tuscany — that sounds unusual, but it is exactly the terrain on which Biserno has built its reputation. The winery is located in Bibbona on the Tuscan coast, in the catchment area of the Bolgheri appellation, and consistently focuses on Bordeaux grape varieties in a climate that combines warmth and maritime influence.

Colle Mezzano shows deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, blackberry and sour cherry, underneath a striking graphite line and a spicy hint of tobacco and clove. On the palate, structured and dense, with round tannins and a mineral, long-lasting finish — typical for Cabernet Franc, which loses its edges in warmer sites but retains its precision.

Good with hearty meat dishes: Bistecca alla Fiorentina, leg of lamb with rosemary, or aged Pecorino. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C, feel free to open an hour before pouring.
