Château Angludet Margaux

At Château Angludet, all grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, immediately transported to the cellar, and fermented using traditional methods, separated by grape variety and vineyard plot. The wines remain on the skins for approximately twenty to thirty days, are then carefully racked, and after malolactic fermentation is complete, are aged for twelve months in French oak barriques (one-third new wood). Around four months after the harvest, in February or March of the following year, the cellar team begins regular tastings of the wines to select the best barrels and blend them to create Angludet's "Grand Vin." This cuvée then completes its maturation in the barrel before being carefully bottled and released for sale. Color: Deep, inky cherry to blackberry red with violet highlights. Aroma: On the nose, intensely fragrant, fresh, and seductive with lush aromas of juicy, sweet, ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, raspberries, plums, and spices, also some coffee and licorice, perfectly balanced with the fine, slightly toasty notes from barrel aging. On the palate, fleshy, juicy, fresh, and full-bodied with the supple, sweet, ripe fruit of the bouquet and noticeable, yet equally soft and sweet, ripe tannins. The finish is silky and smooth with an elegant, seductively long, aromatic aftertaste. Undoubtedly a great vintage and a magnificent expression of the unmistakable elegance and class of a unique terroir. Wine Advocate 2012: 90-93 points for the 2012 vintage.

Château Angludet

Château Angludet lies in the heart of the Médoc – and has been in the hands of the Sichel family for generations. No showroom, no large corporation: here, wine grows the way it should.

Benjamin Peter Sichel and his daughter Daisy Helena run the estate with a clear goal: to leave the land better than they found it. This is evident in every glass. Angludet's wines are not polished, glossy creations – they tell an honest story of the vintage, the land, the moment.

Anyone who has ever drunk an Angludet understands why Benjamin sometimes gets goosebumps when he tastes his own wines.
