Cepparello Toscana IGT Tuscany 1.5L

The Cepparello is the flagship of Isole e Olena — a single-varietal Sangiovese that shows what this grape variety is capable of in Tuscany when you give it space. No auxiliary constructions, no blending: only Sangiovese from the estate's best parcels.

Isole e Olena is located in Chianti Classico between Barberino Val d'Elsa and San Donato in Poggio. Paolo De Marchi, who has shaped the winery since the 1970s, has positioned the Cepparello as an independent cuvée outside the Chianti classification — as a Toscana IGT, which is measured exclusively by the quality of the vintage. The 1.5-liter magnum bottle matures more slowly and evenly than the standard bottle, which gives the wine additional depth.

In the glass, it shows the classic Sangiovese signature: sour cherry and dried plum, plus violets, a hint of tobacco, and the characteristic iron note of the Tuscan soils. The tannins are present but finely woven — the finish long, with lively acidity that keeps the wine lean and precise.

Pairs with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar ragù, or mature Pecorino Stagionato. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. The magnum bottle is suitable for a special evening with several people — or as a gift with substance.
