Camarcanda Bolgheri DOC 1.5L

Bolgheri stands for powerful red wines with a Mediterranean character — and Ca'Marcanda, the Tuscany project of Angelo Gaja, is one of the addresses that have shaped this reputation. The Camarcanda is the most accessible of the three Gaja wines from Bolgheri: a cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah that reflects the typical style of the estate — structured, but not bulky.

On the nose, dark cherries, blackberry, and a hint of lavender appear, underpinned by notes of graphite and clove. The palate is full-bodied with round tannins; the acidity remains present enough to give the wine tension. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with a hint of cocoa and cedar wood.

The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the 0.75 l standard bottle — an advantage that is noticeable in texture and complexity. For a special evening at the table, this is the right bottle. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs well with braised lamb shoulder, game ragù with pappardelle, or ripe Pecorino di Pienza.
