Baron Louis Oberrotweiler Henkenberg Pinot Gris QW Baden dry

A Pinot Gris with weight and depth: The Baron Louis from the Oberrotweiler Henkenberg appears rich golden yellow in the glass and focuses on fullness rather than lightness.

The Freiherr von Gleichenstein winery works in Oberrotweil at the Kaiserstuhl, one of the warmest wine-growing regions in Germany. The wine is a dry quality wine from Baden and was aged in barriques. This gives it structure and a powerful finish.

On the nose, dried pear, apricot, and apple meet honey, acacia blossom, and butter brioche, along with subtle vanilla and wood notes. On the palate, these aromas continue. Fine tannins give the wine hold, and the finish lingers for a long time.

Recommendation: Serve it at 10 to 12 °C, with fried veal fillet with cream sauce, chicken with mushrooms, risotto with porcini mushrooms, or aged mountain cheese.
