Barolo 'Cannubi' DOCG - Organic

The Cannubi is one of the most famous single vineyards of Barolo – and Chiara Boschis is one of the few producers who work this terroir with their own hands. Firm tannins, earthy depth, and a long finish: typical Nebbiolo from Piedmont, just as it should be.

Boschis comes from a winemaking family that has been producing wine for eight generations. In 1981, her family acquired a roughly 400-year-old estate with 2.5 hectares of vineyards in the Cannubi site – one of the most prestigious single vineyards in the entire Barolo zone. As one of the first women in this circle alongside names like Altare, Sandrone, and Scavino, she significantly shaped the modern Barolo style. Her first barrique-aged Barolo earned her three glasses in the Gambero Rosso right away in 1990. Since then, her winery has been among the absolute top group in Piedmont. Around 10,000 bottles are produced annually – pruning, harvesting, barrel work: everything by hand.

In the glass, the Cannubi shows dried leaves, black tea, and orange peel, plus rose petals and a fine herbal note. The tannin structure is firm but without edges – dense and at the same time supple. The finish is long and spicy.

Drinking temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs with Brasato al Barolo, braised wild boar, or aged Parmigiano Reggiano.
