Atis Bolgheri Superiore Magnum 1-bottle wooden case DOC Tuscany 1.5L

Atis is the Bolgheri Superiore from Guado al Melo, here in the 1.5-liter magnum: a dense, spicy red wine that is just as good at the table as it is in the cellar.

The winery is located in Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, the home of Italy's great Cabernet cuvées. Atis consists of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, plus 15% Rebo and 5% Cabernet Franc from selected parcels of the estate. The wine matures for 24 months in used barriques on the fine lees, which are stirred weekly, followed by another 12 months in the bottle.

In the glass, it shows deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, black berries meet spices, tobacco, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and balanced, the tannins are well-integrated, and the finish is long and elegant. Serve it at 16 to 18 °C, preferably decanted beforehand. It goes with braised beef, rack of lamb with rosemary, or aged Pecorino. The magnum is a strong appearance for the table with several guests.
