Amaro Montenegro 3.0L

Amaro Montenegro is a classic Italian herbal liqueur from Bologna — bittersweet, aromatically complex, and a firm part of Italy's Amaro culture for over 130 years. Stanislao Cobianchi developed the recipe in 1885 and named the liqueur after Princess Elena of Montenegro, the later Queen of Italy.

The base consists of 40 botanicals, including citrus peels, spearmint, honey, and licorice. The result is a liqueur with a warm, slightly sweet basic structure, which is carried by a clear but never aggressive bitterness. In the finish, a herbaceous, slightly minty impression remains, which invigorates the palate.

Classically, Amaro Montenegro is drunk at 18–20 °C neat after a meal — this is how all the herbal notes come into their own best. With a large ice cube and an orange slice, it becomes an uncomplicated aperitif. Bartenders appreciate it in cocktails like the Black Manhattan or as a substitute for sweet vermouth. The 3.0-liter bottle is suitable for the well-stocked home bar or for social evenings where one bottle is not enough.
