The Piper-Heidsieck Essentiel Blanc de Blancs is a varietal Chardonnay from the Champagne — clear in its origin, precise in its style. Blanc de Blancs means: exclusively white grapes, exclusively Chardonnay, exclusively what this grape variety has to say in its purest form.

Piper-Heidsieck is one of the great houses of the Champagne with a history dating back to 1785. The Essentiel line stands for the core philosophy of the house: wines that express the character of their grape variety and their origin unadulterated, without distraction by dosage or assemblage complexity.

In the glass, a fine, persistent perlage appears. The aromas follow the typical Chardonnay profile of the Champagne: green apple, citrus zest, white flowers, and a mineral undertone reminiscent of chalk. The finish is fresh, taut, and long — the acidity gives the wine contour without sharpness.

For an aperitif, with oysters or grilled turbot. Also with goat cheese or light appetizers with citrus vinaigrette. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C.
