Château Bonalgue is located in the heart of Pomerol – one of the smallest and most coveted wine-growing regions in Bordeaux. The Bourotte-Audy family has been managing the estate since 1926, now in its fifth generation.

Jean-Baptiste Bourotte, having returned to the wine world after stints at Cartier, and his father Pierre stand for a style that combines precision with patience: healthy soils, maintained biodiversity – beehives, nesting boxes, hedges – and the conviction that great wine is created in the vineyard, not in the cellar.

About Château Bonalgue

Château Bonalgue: Pomerol in the fifth generation, precision from the vineyard

Château Bonalgue is located in the west of Pomerol, near the city limits of Libourne. Pomerol is one of the smallest and most sought-after wine-growing regions in Bordeaux. The Bourotte-Audy family has been managing their estate here since 1926, today in the fifth generation.

Jean-Baptiste Bourotte returned to the world of wine after stints at Cartier. Together with his father Pierre, he manages the estate in a style that combines precision with patience. The conviction of both: great wine is created in the vineyard, not in the cellar.

Accordingly, work in the vineyard is the focus. Healthy soils and maintained biodiversity are part of this: beehives, nesting boxes and hedges characterize the estate. The result is a family estate with a clear signature in the middle of one of the smallest appellations in Bordeaux.
