Warwick Estate First Lady Sauvignon Blanc

The Warwick Estate First Lady Sauvignon Blanc is a tribute to Norma Ratcliffe – co-founder of the Warwick Estate winery in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and one of the pioneers of modern winemaking in the Cape. Those who appreciate wines with character and history will find both in one glass.

This straw-yellow wine is made from hand-picked grapes and displays a vibrant bouquet of gooseberries, passion fruit, nectarines, and citrus fruits . On the palate, this freshness continues – with hints of kiwi and fresh herbs reminiscent of a tropical fruit cocktail, without losing the typical spiciness of a good Sauvignon Blanc. The 2018 vintage was awarded 3.5 stars by John Platter – a highly regarded South African benchmark.

Ideal as a companion to:

  • Grilled fish and seafood
  • Goat cheese and light salads
  • Asian-inspired dishes with lemongrass or coriander

A wine for people who appreciate a spirit of discovery and depth.

Warwick Estate

Where the First Lady of Cape Winemaking Made History: Warwick Estate is a winery located in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Warwick was founded around 1771 as a fruit farm. In 1964, Stan and Norma Ratcliff took over the farm and transformed it into a winery, primarily cultivating the typical Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Norma Ratcliff thus became the first female winemaker in the Cape of South Africa and, as such, quite famous. The "First Lady" range from Warwick Estate is a tribute to Norma Ratcliff.
