A Cabernet Sauvignon from the highlands of Sicily — structured, aromatically dense, and far removed from the cliché of the heavy island wine.

Tenuta Regaleali is located in the heart of Sicily, near Vallelunga, at an altitude of over 500 meters. The Tasca d'Almerita family winery has been one of the defining names of the Sicilian wine scene for generations. The high altitude brings cool nights, which ensure freshness and aromatic intensity — even with a Mediterranean grape variety like Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines root in sandy, calcareous soils with a slightly alkaline pH value, which gives the wine a basic mineral tension. Harvested by hand.

In the glass, the Vigna San Francesco shows dark berry fruit — blackberry and blackcurrant — with a hint of dried herbs and a subtle spicy note in the background. The tannins are present but well-integrated, the acidity gives the wine pull and length. Dry, lingering finish.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled rack of lamb, pasta with wild boar sauce, or mature Pecorino Siciliano.
