Taralli con Peperincino

Taralli con Peperoncino from Laurieri — crispy pastry rings from southern Italy, seasoned with peperoncino. The Laurieri manufactory has been producing traditional baked goods for decades according to an Apulian-Campanian recipe: wheat flour, olive oil, white wine and chili, baked until they achieve their characteristic crunch.

In the mouth, it starts with a delicate saltiness, followed by a dry melt, rounded off by the lingering warmth of the chili. The texture is firm and crispy, unlike anything you'd find in industrial crackers.

A classic, neat aperitivo accompaniment — paired with a robust Primitivo or Nero d'Avola from Apulia. Also a good choice with mild ricotta or air-dried ham.

Laurieri Spa

Laurieri's typical savory pastries are excellent for snacking, such as the Bruschette con aglio. This is a smaller version of Bruschetta: small slices of white bread with a touch of garlic. Scrocchi are crackers that complement wine. They are crisp and have the delicate aroma of green olives. They enhance and support the development of white wine aromas. They are also available with spices like rosemary, sea salt, and pizza seasoning. Very typical of southern Italy, especially Puglia and Campania, are the Taralli con peperoncino, crispy baked rings with a delicious pepperoni flavor. When red wine is served, a bowl of Taralli is always on the table.
