Syrah Toscana Co IGT Tuscany

A single-varietal Syrah from Tuscany: dark-fruited, spicy and clearly structured. Isole e Olena produces it as Collezione Privata from grapes from their own vineyards in Chianti Classico. It shows that the region is capable of more than just Sangiovese.

After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for around twelve months in oak barrels, in equal parts in new, two-year-old and three-year-old barriques. The quantity remains limited.

Deep ruby red in the glass. On the nose, blackberry and plum meet black pepper. On the palate, the Syrah appears structured, the tannins are ripe, the finish is long. The alcohol content is around 14% vol.

Serve it at 16–18 °C, preferably after half an hour in a carafe. It pairs well with wild boar ragù, grilled lamb or Pecorino stagionato.
