Santenay AC 0.75L

Santenay lies at the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune – often overlooked, rarely disappointing. Joseph Drouhin, one of the most well-known négociant houses in Burgundy, brings a classic Pinot Noir to the glass here that clearly defines its origin: cool, precise, with Burgundian earthiness.

The soils around Santenay and the Mont de Sène consist of clay and limestone – a combination that gives the Pinot Noir structure and mineral depth. Drouhin has been working with sites throughout the Côte d'Or for generations and is known for artisanally clean, site-typical wines.

In the glass, it shows a medium-deep ruby tone. The nose brings sour cherry, dried raspberry, and a hint of earth – typical for the southern Côte de Beaune. On the palate, fine, grippy tannins, lively acidity, and a medium-short, slightly spicy finish with notes of clove.

Best served at 16–17 °C. Pairs with duck breast, Coq au Vin, or a ripe Époisses.
