Bolgheri DOC Rosso rod 0.75L

The Rute von Guado al Melo is a classic Bolgheri Rosso with the structure of the coastal hills in its back: powerful, but without heaviness, with a freshness that is not a given in this DOC.

Guado al Melo lies in the heart of Bolgheri, that strip of Tuscany between the Apennines and the Tyrrhenian Sea, which has been known as the home of powerful red wines since the 1990s. The winery focuses on a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah – a combination with a long tradition in Bolgheri and well-suited to the terroir of the clay-sandy soils. The grapes ripen on hillsides cooled by sea breezes, which preserves the acidity even in warmer vintages.

In the glass, dark cherry, blackberry, and a hint of clove are revealed, along with a subtle peppery note from the Syrah. The palate is medium-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and lively acidity that gives the wine a light touch despite its depth. The finish is long and spicy.

Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, leg of lamb with rosemary, or mature Pecorino cheese. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Drink by 2028.
