Old Vines GSM

A red wine from the Barossa Valley that shows why the region has relied on Rhône grape varieties for almost two centuries: Torbreck's Old Vines GSM combines Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre into a dense but smooth cuvée with a clear origin.

Torbreck was founded in 1994 in the Barossa Valley with the express aim of bottling the region's old Rhône grape varieties, blending European tradition with Australian maturity. The vineyards contain vines whose roots stretch back to the 19th century. Old vines, lower yields, more concentrated grapes: this is the foundation on which Torbreck works.

In the glass, the GSM displays a lush bouquet of black cherry and cassis, underpinned by violets, leather, and Provençal herbs. On the palate, it offers a silky mouthfeel, lingering dark fruit, and a hint of spice on the finish. Dry and structured, yet without harsh edges.

Pairs well with leg of lamb with rosemary, braised beef, or strong hard cheeses. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Ready to drink now, but can be stored for several years.
