Morey-Saint-Denis is one of the unsung heroes of the Côte de Nuits—less well-known than Gevrey-Chambertin or Chambolle-Musigny, but often more precise in its minerality and more accessible in price. This dry Pinot Noir from François Feuillet demonstrates what the village is capable of: deep red fruit, supported by the characteristic structure of Burgundian limestone-marl soils.
On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of cherry and sour cherry, underpinned by a hint of violet and fine earth. On the palate, it is lean and precise—medium-bodied, with silky tannins and lively acidity that keeps the finish long and fresh. This is not a wine that aims to impress with power, but rather with elegance and length.
Best served at 16–17 °C , ideally decanted an hour beforehand. Pairs well with duck breast with Pinot Noir jus, Coq au Vin, or a mature Époisses. Open it now for an approachable Burgundy with character; wait two to four years for even more depth.
