Marqués de Cáceres Crianza Rioja

The Marqués de Cáceres Crianza is made from grapes grown on 15- to 25-year-old vines in Rioja Alta (85%) and Rioja Alavesa (15%). The yield is 40 hectoliters per hectare. The soils are primarily calcareous and clayey, some with an iron-rich subsoil. The region enjoys a temperate climate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Fermentation begins at 10°C and continues until the temperature reaches approximately 28°C. Maceration with the skins lasts for 20 days, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to oak barrels. Aging takes place in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels. A quarter of the barrels are new, a quarter are two years old, a quarter are three years old, and a quarter are up to four years old. This results in wines of exceptional quality at an outstanding price-to-quality ratio. The Marqués de Cáceres Crianza is deep red, with a nose reminiscent of red fruit, its freshness complemented by vanilla aromas. On the palate, the ripe tannins create an impression of joy and freedom. The structure is fleshy, balanced, flavorful, and harmonious. A guaranteed pleasure at any moment! Marques de Caceres

Marqués de Cáceres is one of Rioja's most influential wineries – founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner in Cenicero, Rioja Alta, and shaped from the very beginning by the Bordeaux pioneer Émile Peynaud. Forner broke with the conventions of his time: shorter oak aging, French instead of American oak barrels, more fruit in the glass. Since 2007, Cristina Forner has led the family winery as president – and continues this approach with conviction. Today, the winery manages around 1,200 hectares of vineyards and exports its wines to over 130 countries, without losing the style that made it great.
