Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur AC Premier Cru 0.75L

Clos Prieur lies in the southern part of Gevrey-Chambertin, right on the border with Mazis-Chambertin—a Premier Cru vineyard that is somewhat less noisy than its famous neighbors, but impresses with its own earthy depth. Maison Joseph Drouhin, based in Beaune since 1880 and for decades one of the most reliable names in the Côte d'Or, vinifies this Pinot Noir with the respect the site demands.

Deep ruby red in the glass. The nose opens with dark cherry and blackberry, with a hint of violet and damp earth—typical of the heavy, clay soils in the lower Gevrey region. On the palate, the wine is structured, with present but not harsh tannins and lively acidity that supports the fruit. The finish is long and spicy, with a subtle touch of licorice.

Drink now or store until 2032. Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. At the table, it pairs well with Coq au Vin, braised lamb shoulder with herbs de Provence, or a mature Époisses.
