The Mimus displays a decidedly elegant aroma of red plums, wild cherries, berry compote, rhubarb, and spicy vanilla. A rich, expressive palate, complex and unfolding with a piquant yet unobtrusive spiciness and a very subtle fire. Characterful, smoky notes underlie aromas of red currants, cranberries, and dried plums. A confident acidity and finely spicy, yet not overpowering, tannins. Fine grip and subtle minerality on the finish. A Pinot Noir of considerable class and remarkable ambition.

Dr. Heger Winery

The Dr. Heger winery – a country doctor laid the foundation in 1935. Max Heger purchased fallow parcels of land on the Ihringer Winklerberg vineyard, and his son Wolfgang continued the business in the 1960s. Today, oenologist Joachim Heger manages the estate in the third generation – together with his wife Silvia. He has been chairman of the VDP Baden (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) since 2009. In addition to the Winklerberg vineyard, the estate now also includes parcels on the Achkarrer Schlossberg vineyard – both classified as "Erste Lage" (Premier Cru) by the VDP. On volcanic weathered soils with a loess topsoil, wines with character, depth, and fine minerality are cultivated here. Top-class Baden wines that you can taste.
