Bourgogne Pinot Noir AC 0.75L

A classic introduction to the world of Morey-Saint-Denis: The Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Virgile Lignier-Michelot shows what an experienced family winery can achieve from the simplest Burgundy appellation — clear fruit, Burgundian elegance, not an ounce of excess.

Virgile Lignier-Michelot cultivates his vineyards in Morey-Saint-Denis, one of the most concentrated wine-growing villages in the Côte de Nuits. The parcels for this Bourgogne AC lie outside the Premiers and Grands Crus, but are tended by the same hands as the estate's top wines. The winery is known for meticulous work in the vineyard and a restrained vinification that allows the terroir to speak for itself.

In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red color. Aromas of cherry and raspberry, a hint of violet, and a slightly earthy undertone—typical for Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits. The body is lean, the tannins silky, the acidity fresh and well-integrated. Not a heavy wine, but one with presence.

Best served at 14–16 °C . Pairs well with roast chicken, baked salmon, mushroom risotto, or a mature Époisses. Also a great choice as an uncomplicated accompaniment to a midweek dinner—without having to open a Grand Cru.
