Auxey-Duresses AC Auxey-Duresses

Pinot Blanc from the Côte de Beaune, but with Chardonnay as the only grape variety: this dry Auxey-Duresses shows how much precision is in a village wine from Burgundy. It is clearly defined, fresh, and without heaviness.

Esprit Leflaive is the wine house that emerged from the environment of the Leflaive family in Puligny-Montrachet. The wine comes from Auxey-Duresses, a village at the entrance to a side valley of the Côte de Beaune. The Chardonnay vines grow on limestone and clay soils, which give the wine structure and a mineral drive.

In the glass, ripe pear, white peach, and citrus peel, plus floral tones and a hint of toasted almonds. On the palate, clearly structured, with fine texture, balanced freshness, and a subtly integrated wood note. The finish remains mineral.

Serve it at 10 to 12 °C, for example with pan-fried zander, chicken in cream sauce, scallops, or a ripe Comté. It also works well solo as a companion for a quiet evening.
