Neil Ellis
A pioneer of South African winemaking: Neil Ellis began in 1984 as one of the country's first "négociants". Without his own vineyards, he bought the best grapes and made wine in rented premises – a bold idea at the time.
Today, his son Warren runs the winery in the Jonkershoek Valley. The concept remains the same: perfect grapes from the best vineyards – Stellenbosch, Elgin, and Darling. The modern winery with its massive rammed earth walls has stood at the Helshoogte Pass since 2015.
The wines are elegant, precise, and full of character. A true piece of South African pioneering spirit in a glass.
