A pioneer of South African viticulture: Neil Ellis began in 1984 as one of the country's first "négociants." Without his own vineyards, he bought the best grapes and vinified them in rented spaces – a bold idea at the time.
Today, his son Warren runs the winery in the Jonkershoek Valley. The concept remains the same: perfect grapes from the best sites – from Stellenbosch, Elgin, and Darling. The modern winery with massive rammed-earth walls has stood at the Helshoogte Pass since 2010.
The wines are elegant, precise, and full of character. A true piece of South African pioneering spirit in the glass.
