Meerlust Merlot

The Meerlust Merlot comes from one of South Africa's most renowned wineries – and from the very first sip, it makes clear why the Meerlust Estate has been among the most sought-after addresses in Stellenbosch for generations. This wine is for anyone who wants to experience Merlot at its ripest and most characterful.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red with purple reflections – a color that already promises depth and concentration. The nose is greeted by wonderful fruit aromas: ripe cherries, plums, and dark berries mingle with balsamic notes, dark chocolate, and a hint of licorice. On the palate, it is concentrated, full-bodied, and spicy, with a fine minerality that lends the wine vibrancy. The acidity is lively but perfectly integrated, and the velvety tannins carry a long, smooth finish.

Enjoy it with braised lamb loin , a hearty beef stew, or a mature hard cheese. If drinking it neat, allow it some time in the glass – it unfolds a little more with each sip.

Meerlust Wine Estate

Meerlust Wine Estate – for over 250 years a name synonymous with unforgettable wines. Just 15 kilometers south of Stellenbosch, barely five kilometers from False Bay. The proximity to the sea brings cool breezes and coastal mist – the grapes ripen slowly, evenly, with true depth. Owned by the Myburgh family since 1756, the estate is now run by Hannes Myburgh, the eighth generation, with respect for its heritage and a clear vision for the future. Its most famous wine: Rubicon. A red wine that put Stellenbosch on the world map. Powerful, elegant, with the potential to age for many years. South Africa at its best.
