St. Annaberg Burrweiler terraced location

A Riesling that doesn't hide its origin: The terraced vineyard at Burrweiler Castle Gardens lies on the southern edge of the Palatinate, where the Palatinate Forest protects the vines from cool north winds and the weathered sandstone and variegated sandstone gives the wine its characteristic minerality.

Sankt Annaberg is one of the most renowned wine-growing regions in the Southern Palatinate. The steep terraces above Burrweiler allow for optimal sun exposure combined with good drainage – conditions that enable Riesling to mature into precise, age-worthy wines.

In the glass, this is a dry Riesling with a clear citrus structure: lemon zest, ripe apple, and a hint of white peach. The acidity is lively yet integrated, the finish long and characterized by a fine slate minerality. Not a sumptuous, baroque wine—but one that impresses with its precision and length.
