Château Lagrange 6er HK

Saint-Julien is the most compact of the major Médoc appellations – and Château Lagrange is among the estates that most consistently embody its classic profile. This six-bottle case is a good introduction to a wine that needs time and rewards it.

Located in the heart of Saint-Julien, the Château cultivates approximately 118 hectares and has been owned by the Japanese Suntory Group since 1983 – an acquisition that brought about a comprehensive modernization of the estate. Today, Lagrange is considered one of the most reliable third-growth wines of the appellation. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot varies depending on the vintage, but always follows the same goal: structure with elegance.

In the glass, the typical Saint-Julien profile is revealed: blackcurrant and dark cherry take center stage, underpinned by graphite and a hint of smoke. With bottle aging – from about five years onwards – cedarwood, licorice, and tobacco come to the fore. The tannins are present but fine-grained; the finish is long and spicy.

Serving suggestion: Serve at 17–18 °C. Pairs well with herb-crusted lamb loin, aged cheddar, or duck breast. Drinking window: now until 2032+.
